I discovered coaching after 25 years of practicing medicine.

I’ve worked with different cultures across Canada and traveled to over 60 countries. In 2000, I decided it was time to fulfill a long held dream of practicing medicine in developing countries. Loving to learn, I completed a Master’s in public health and research methods which changed the focus of my job, adding spice to it. I moved into international public health leadership and education. When I returned to Canada, my work lost its luster.

One day, at a leadership workshop, I felt like I was the only one mired in cement while everyone else danced. It was like I saw only shades of gray where vibrant colours existed. An insistent voice inside asked, “Is this all there is? Is this life? What’s your encore going to be?”

Hiring a coach was like a homecoming. I reconnected with myself. I saw possibility where I’d previously seen emptiness. I yearned to develop the courage to leap from my comfortable dissatisfaction into the unknown yet it was hard to trust the idea that if I took that step, the path I wanted would unfold. What if it didn’t? It sounded too magical for my scientific brain.

One morning, I did just that. I stepped. And I followed the unfurling path that appeared bit by bit sometimes in fog and sometimes in bright sunlight. I trained as a coach, trained in leadership and studied mind-body medicine. Combining all of that with my background in medicine, public health, international travel, writing and research, I offer to coach you on your journey. Each day, I live with heart. And, I love my work…..all of it.

In coaching, the container I hold you in is rich and diverse. No matter what secrets keep you stuck, I’m ready to catalyze your release from them.
